EnglishThis postcard set compares the different dreams of ten young Koreans to puzzle pieces, showing how a unified Korea's future comes together only when all these dreams come together. It carries the message that young people achieving their own dreams is the same as building a unified Korea and changing the world.

Heart-beating KOREA!
Have you ever played with a jigsaw puzzle? To complete the puzzle, all the pieces need to fill their spot. If a piece is missing, the puzzle remains incomplete. Similarly, a unified Korea is made up of the ten different dreams of young Koreans.
VANK designed a set of postcards to show how the Korean people’s dreams will create a unified Korea. These postcards reflect our hope that young Koreans will pursue their personal dreams and realize their value, ultimately contributing to unifying Korea and changing the world for the better. A unified Korea will lead efforts to solve various global issues, such as poverty, conflict, and environmental problems. Friends, we ask you to support our dreams and help us unify Korea!
A unified Korea will be the hub of Asia, the gateway to Northeast Asia, and a country of friendship that shares its dreams and vision with people from all around the world.
한국청년의 꿈1_Electrical Engineers
From a satellite, only half of Korea is bright at night. The satellite image triggers young Koreans’ interest in the electricity supply of the other half of Korea. The fact that only 26% of the North Korean population has access to electricity saddens us. Some of us will become electrical engineers. As electrical engineers in a unified Korea, we will repair North Korea’s old electrical wiring to light up all of Korea.
한국청년의 꿈2_Tourism Planners
Korea has a rich cultural heritage that spans 5000 years of history. However, Korean history is often neglected in textbooks and publications outside Korea. Since the Korean War in the 1950s, international media generally focus on conflict between South and North Korea. As tourism planners in a unified Korea, we will redirect the focus from conflict to Korea’s historic sites and beautiful mountains, particularly the sites of Gojoseon, Goguryeo, and Balhae that are located in the North and have been off-limits to tourists.
한국청년의 꿈3_Agricultural NGO Members
North Korea is categorized as a low-income, food-deficit country by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). North Koreans are on average 10cm shorter than South Koreans. South Koreans hope to reduce this discrepancy by cooperating with North Koreans in agriculture. As members of agricultural NGOs, we will run a joint agricultural complex to solve hunger in North Korea. While planting seeds and harvesting crops together, South and North Koreans will build trust and that trust will create wider possibilities for cooperation.
한국청년의 꿈4_Entrepreneurs
What are the conditions for a successful unification? One of the basic conditions is to reduce the economic disparities between South and North Korea. South Korea’s gross national income (GNI) is 43 times larger than North Korea’s. As entrepreneurs, we will narrow this gap by applying South Korea’s advanced technology to North Korea’s rich natural resources. We will build plants and hire North Korean residents to improve the economy. With our dedication, a unified Korea is on its way.
한국청년의 꿈5_Environmental Activists
The demilitarized zone (DMZ) was a deadly battlefield during the Korean War. Where human history stopped moving forward, new hope was still sprouting. The DMZ is home to around 50% of the world’s white-naped cranes and 43% of Korea’s endangered species. Koreans in the South and the North will create a world peace park by preserving nature in the DMZ. While creating the park together, Koreans will learn about each other and eventually become one again. A unified Korea will bring hope for peace to people in other areas of conflict.
한국청년의 꿈6_Diplomats
Dokdo is Korea’s easternmost territory that consists of two main islands, East and West Island, and 89 adjacent islets. Dokdo has a special meaning for the Korean people because it was the first Korean territory that Japan annexed during its imperialistic expansion. Dokdo reminds us of the importance of sovereignty and independence. As diplomats in a unified Korea, we will closely observe the direction of international politics to protect our sovereignty, and we will also uphold the values of peace and freedom to make the world a better place.
한국청년의 꿈7_Journalists
Despite the 5000 years of shared culture and history, the 70 years of division have created many differences between people in the South and the North. In a unified Korea, Koreans would have to learn and understand differences in the language, culture, and systems. As journalists, we will write articles to help understand each other and promote the benefits of unification. Such efforts will allow us to rebuild one Korea on our land and in our mind.
한국청년의 꿈8_Health professionals
The Korean War left many scars. After the division, the health gap between the two Koreas has progressively widened. North Korea’s infant mortality rate is 10 times higher than South Korea. Also, in North Korea, many people still die of tuberculosis every year. Koreans in the South are preparing to extend their helping hands. As health professionals, we will share medical knowledge and resources with North Korea. We hope to make Korea healthier by healing the old scars.
한국청년의 꿈9_Historians
Korea has a 5000-year-long history. Its historical relics are scattered throughout South and North Korea, and those in the North are off-limits to most of the world. As historians in a unified Korea, we will integrate the historical sources of both sides and discover unknown historic sites to promote our complete history to the world. A unified Korea will become a symbol of peace and bring the world together.
한국청년의 꿈10_New Career Opportunities
Koreans hope that a unified Korea will be the center of global changes to promote the values of peace and shared prosperity. When all 70 million Koreans play their roles in all areas of society, including politics, economy, and culture, we will eventually achieve this goal. Please support our dream. Together, we will build a unified Korea and a better world for all of us.
