EnglishAn unwavering love for Korea from independence activist Homer Hulbert (1863-1949). He wrote Saminpilji, the first textbook written in Hangeul, was the first to transcribe Arirang into Western musical notation, and served as a secret envoy for Emperor Gojong. He once said, "There is no writing system in the world that compares to Hangeul." This stamp sheet includes 10 individual stamps depicting his life and love for Korea, along with a central commemorative stamp introducing Hulbert. Each stamp also features one of his quotes, such as "I would rather be buried in Korea than in Westminster Abbey" and "I will fight for Korea's independence until the day I die."
