독도 한국화 엽서세트는 독도의 다양한 모습을 전통 한국화로 담은 엽서 세트다. 동도와 서도, 89개의 부속 도서로 이루어진 독도는 일제강점기 첫 희생지였다가 1945년 광복과 함께 되찾은 영토로, 다양한 생물이 서식해 천연기념물로 보호되고 있다.
EnglishThis postcard set shows the many views of Dokdo through traditional Korean paintings. Dokdo is made up of Dongdo (East Island), Seodo (West Island), and 89 islets. It was the first place taken during the Japanese Occupation Period (Anti-Japanese Resistance Period), and was regained as Korean territory when Korea was liberated in 1945. Dokdo is home to diverse wildlife and is protected as a Natural Monument.

Dokdo, the easternmost island in Korea, has a special meaning to the Korean people because it was the first Korean territory to fall victim to Japanese imperialism. It was returned to Korea with the country’s independence in 1945. Dokdo consists of two main islands, Dongdo (East Island) and Seodo (West Island), and 89 surrounding islets. Inhabited by various species, Dokdo has been given protection as a natural monument of Korea for its unique ecosystem.
When Koreans think of Dokdo, they are reminded of the importance of independence and sovereignty. For the sake of peace in Asia and the world, we will never lose the sovereignty of Dokdo again.
